SCREENrec is mainly intended for screen captures. In addition, this program allows you to record audio from different sources such as a sound card or a microphone. It is good that your screenshots can be accompanied by recordings from a video camera as well.
This tool has a very simple interface. It is also unobtrusive since it runs from the taskbar and responds to keyboard shortcuts. From its configuration, you can set which video or audio devices you want to use. You can also define the quality of the resulting video, which can be up to 4K. It is very convenient that it comes with a built-in annotation editor, which allows you to draw rectangles, arrows and bubbles. Besides, you can insert explanatory texts.
Good news is that you can upload the resulting video or image to a cloud account. This way, you can share these resources with other people via links. The drawback is that you cannot manage these resources. In this sense, there is very little transparency as to where these files are stored, added to which is the inability to delete them if you wish.
In short, SCREENrec is a minimalist and easy-to-use screen capture tool. It can be useful for various tasks, including software demonstrations and remote support. However, I do not recommend the option of automatically uploading the recordings to the cloud. Instead, you can save them as local files and then share them on your preferred storage service. The product is available from your developer's site at no cost.
